Strawberry Shortcake Shawl

Posted on: July 7, 2011

This project has a really sweet story. Some friends of mine in my knitting group and I were talking about our favorite childhood cartoons. For us, that’s “My Little Pony”, “Carebears”, and Strawberry Shortcake among many others. The next week, I saw this yarn that reminded me of Strawberry Shortcake. My friend Joanne bought me the yarn with my promise that I would make something strawberry-ish with it. I searched and searched for a pattern, but came up empty handed. Then I remembered this pattern that I had purchased forever ago that kind of looked like strawberries. I’ve since changed my mind, but at the time it seemed perfect.
