Ravelympics 2010

Posted on: January 24, 2010

In only 19 more days, the winter olympics are beginning, which means… Dunt Dunt Duuuunt…………. The RAVELYMPICS! All knitters involved will cast on their designated project for whichever event they have joined in support of their Ravelympics team. I have joined Team Colorado and will be knitting for the Short Track Shawls event. Training prior to the lighting of the torch ceremony is allowed and includes finding your pattern, purchasing and winding your yarn, knitting, washing, and blocking your swatch. Once all of your training is complete, it just a waiting game until the ceremony.

A Knitted Peace will be hosting a pre and post Ravelympics celebration. To first show what we have committed ourselves to and then to show off our FO and to be entered into a gift certificate drawing for $100.00 in their shop.

I am still undecided on whether I am going to do a full lace shawl in Malabrigo Sock or a little shawlette in Zauberball. I am working on my Earth Maiden right now, and the amount of time that this one takes to knit will help me decide. I have both patterns and the yarn for either project so I’ll only have to do a swatch when I choose. Good luck to all of you Ravelympics knitters, crocheters, etc!
